Monday, December 16th – Tuesday, December 17th 2024 World Tour Days 44 – 45 Crossing the border into Zimbabwe was relatively easy, it expensive. I don’t know what Canada and China did to Zimbabwe but those visas to enter are over double the cost as the other countries. Nick’s cost 30 USD and mine was 75 USD for one time entry. Friday, December 13th – Monday, December 16th 2024 World Tour Days 41 – 44 The overland tour continued with several big driving days to get to Livingstone, Zambia. The first day was about 7.5 hours long with a stop at Tribal Textiles to see how they hand make prints for furniture and decor. We spent the night in Cipata before heading off to Lusaka the next day which was a 9 hour drive. Wednesday, December 11th – Thursday, December 12th, 2024 World Tour Days 39 – 40 After taking in our last sunrise over Lake Malawi we started the drive to our next country: Zambia. Our drive was 12 hours in total. Our group got to see a different side of Malawi during our lunch stop, where the local villagers fought each other for our leftover lunch food. Up until this point we had only positive interactions with local people, but we were told that these people were likely desperate for something to eat. Wednesday, December 4th – Tuesday, December 10th 2024 World Tour Days 32- 38 After leaving Dar es Salaam we continued making our way south towards Malawi, our 5th country so far on the world tour. We had a full driving day to get to Mikumi, Tanzania where we spent two nights just hanging out and relaxing. This was followed by a 9.5 hour driving day (including a 5 hour traffic jam) to get past Iringa. As we drove up a mountain there was a car accident blocking both lanes of traffic.
