Tuesday, January 21st – Sunday, January 26th, 2025 World Tour Days 80 – 85 After a week in the southern section of the Drakensberg mountains we made our way to the northern section past Bergville. During our road trip we typically made all our own meals but occasionally tried a local food spot. Our breakfast stop is worth highlighting because it was so phenomenal. It’s called the Whistling Goat cafe in Himeville, and the waitress and chef are a married couple who are super nice. Monday, January 20th, 2025 World Tour Day 79 From our hostel, Sani Lodge, we took a day tour of the Sani Pass. It was a nice relaxed pace after our five days of backpacking the Giants Cup Trail. This day tour started off by driving in South Africa to get to the Sani Pass. We passed many wild flowers and mountain views. After border control we were stamped out of South Africa and into a new country of Lesotho. The roads up until this point were paved and smooth. The Sani Pass itself, however, is another story. Tuesday, January 14th – Sunday, January 19th, 2025 World Tour Days 73 – 78 Our drive from Addo to Sani Lodge took nearly 11 hours. It started off with watching the sunrise on the hammock and seeing giraffes on the side of the road. The scenery was gorgeous, and just got better as we made our way closer to our final destination. A highlight of the drive was passing through a small town where the teenagers had just received their final marks. The cars all had the test scores printed out on display, and they had a mini parade where…

Friday, January 10th – Monday, January 13th, 2025 World Tour Days 69 – 72 The Garden Route is a stretch of coastland in South Africa that is popular for road trips. It hugs the east coast of the cape and has amazing coastal towns with lots of outdoor activities. We started with a 5 hour drive to Wilderness. There we ate our packed sandwiches on the Wilderness Beach and enjoyed walking the shoreline before getting back to driving. Our final destination for the next two nights was Plettenberg Bay.
