Monday, May 19th – Thursday, May 22nd World Tour Days 198 – 201 China was off to a great start in Guilin and Yangshuo. This continued into our next destinations as well. Nick and I had a long travel day with our first train being 6 hours to Shangrao. The train passed mountains, forests, towns, and flooded fields. The fields even had some water buffalos. Wednesday, May 13th, – Sunday, May 18th, 2025 World Tour Days 192 – 197 After a lovely week in Hong Kong it was time to make our way to mainland China. After taking 3 local trains we made it to the high speed railway station from which we would enter China. It was much like an airport process, but went smoothly. Lunch before our train was a little extravagant because we didn’t think we’d be getting a good deal to exchange our extra Hong Kong Dollars for Chinese Yuan. Tuesday, May 6th – Tuesday, May 12th, 2025 World Tour Days 185 -191 Our travel day to Hong Kong from Taiwan went smoothly, but was long. A 2 hour drive to the airport was followed by a long wait with delicious food. The flight was direct and the public transport from the airport to our friends’ apartment was easy. We stayed with friends of my parents from our hometown. I had not seen them since I was a teenager so it was a fun reunion. Saturday, May 3rd – Monday, May 5th, 2025 World Tour Days 182 – 184 Hot Spring After our lunch in Sun Moon Lake our taxi took us about 3 hours to get to our hot spring resort. On the drive we passed many mountains with thick forest and trees in full bloom with white flowers. As a nice treat we stayed at the Volando Urai Spring Spa & Resort.
