Monday, May 26th – Saturday, May 31st, 2025 World Tour Days 205 – 210 Monday was a big travel day leaving Hangzhou by train. Luckily Nick was feeling much better after having some rest days. The train station was so big it felt more like an airport. There was even blueberry flavored soft serve ice cream, which I loved. We did not notice it until we had already eaten, but the station also had a Tim Hortons. The train was 8.5 hours, arriving to Zhangjiajie at 10pm. Nick and I enjoyed the views of flooded fields, and an intense red…

Friday, May 23rd – Sunday, May 25th, 2025 World Tour Days 202 – 204 After a wonderful few days in Huangshan Nick and I took an afternoon high speed train to Hangzhou east train station. It was less than 2 hours long and passed many of the classic sights we’ve been seeing on our train rides. There were villages, rice fields, and mountains. It was raining pretty hard so was difficult to see out of the window, though. The train station itself was massive but luckily easily labelled for us to navigate out of. In Hangzhou we stayed in a…

Monday, May 19th – Thursday, May 22nd World Tour Days 198 – 201 China was off to a great start in Guilin and Yangshuo. This continued into our next destinations as well. Nick and I had a long travel day with our first train being 6 hours to Shangrao. The train passed mountains, forests, towns, and flooded fields. The fields even had some water buffalos. One of the mountains had tiny houses, the size of a doll house, placed throughout the trees on one side. It was very cute. After a tight layover we made our last train which was…

Wednesday, May 13th, – Sunday, May 18th, 2025 World Tour Days 192 – 197 After a lovely week in Hong Kong it was time to make our way to mainland China. After taking 3 local trains we made it to the high speed railway station from which we would enter China. It was much like an airport process, but went smoothly. Lunch before our train was a little extravagant because we didn’t think we’d be getting a good deal to exchange our extra Hong Kong Dollars for Chinese Yuan. I had broccoli spinach cheese pie, pistachio cheesecake, and a salted…
