Tuesday, January 6th – Friday, January 9th, 2026 World Tour Days: 431 – 434 Travel to El Chaltén Another morning, another fantastic breakfast from our hostel. It was great to eat a lot the morning after our big glacier hike. Our bus left El Chaltén about 30 minutes late again due to passengers showing up right at the time it was supposed to depart. The bus drivers in Patagonia are too nice in my opinion. Luckily, the drive was short and we didn’t make any plans for the day. We arrived in El Chaltén at 11:30am, our last stop in…

Sunday, January 4th – Monday, January 5th, 2026 World Tour Days: 429 – 430 Bus Journey Back to Argentina Breakfast was quieter than usual without Emily, Gabe, Deb, and Jeff. They had left the day before and were back home in Iowa and Washington. Nick and I tried to take advantage of one last breakfast at our hotel. Avocado toast and cookies really hit the spot. Nick must’ve enjoyed breakfast as much as I did because he agreed to take a taxi to the bus station, an uncommon luxury! Many people showed up right as the bus was supposed to…

For our next family activity we were picked up from our hotel; what a luxury not walking with our bags to the bus station. At a local dock we were greeted by our guacho host for the next two days, Tomás. It was just our family, the captain, and Tomás on our boat. As we…

Saturday, December 20th – Tuesday, December 30th, 2025 World Tour Days: 414 – 424 Arriving to Puerto Natales Nick and I adjusted to being back on land quickly after our cruise. It was an early 6:30am walk in the rain to the bus station in Ushuaia. That day we would make the long bus journey to Puerto Natales, Chile to start exploring a new part of Patagonia. The rain completely dissolved the paper bag we had been using to hold all of our snacks. Luckily for us there was a nice couple on the bus who had an extra re-useable…
