Wednesday, June 25th – Friday, June 27th, 2025 World Tour Days: 235 – 237 Day 1: Charyn Canyon Luckily for us, Nick found a local rental car dealership that had some cars available for the days we wanted for our roadtrip. The itinerary I had planned is possible with taxis and busses, but it would have been way more inconvenient and expensive. Saturday, June 21st – Tuesday, June 24th & Saturday, June 28th – Sunday, June 29th, 2025 World Tour Days: 231 – 235 & 238 – 239 The day started with a quick flight from Ürümqi, China to Almaty, Kazakhstan, marking a new country for us on our world tour. The flight had some of the best views we have ever seen on a flight. We flew over mountain ranges, glaciers, lakes, and enjoyed sunset on the tarmac. Wednesday, June 18th – Saturday, June 21st, 2025 World Tour Days 228 – 231 Much like our previous travel days in China, our day started and ended with high speed trains. After traveling over 10 hours on 2 trains we made it all the way from Beijing to Zhangye. We were completely exhausted after arriving. The town seemed like a ghost town with the entire area around our hotel being shut down. Each store was closed and cleared out. We wondered if it was the off season, if the stores were new, or if tourism had crashed in the area.…

Sunday, June 8th – Tuesday, June 17th, 2025 World Tour Days 218 – 227 Day 1: Reunion From Xi’An North train station we travelled 5.5 hours to get to Beijing where our good friend, Liam, was already waiting for us in the hotel. He flew all the way from the USA to explore the city with us. We were thrilled to have company other than each other for over a week.
